About the Lab:

An Electrical machines lab is a facility where students(UG) studying electrical engineering or related fields can gain hands-on experience with various electrical machines (AC/DC) and devices. This lab is designed to provide practical knowledge and skills related to the operation, testing, and analysis of electrical machines commonly used in industries and applications. It also plays a crucial role in bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical skills for students pursuing careers in electrical engineering and related fields.

The key equipments in this lab are:
■ Transformers (100:50, 100:86.6, 100:120)
■ Auto Transformers
■ DC Machines
■ Induction Motors
■ Synchronous Machines
■ AC & DC Drives

List of Experiments:
■ Labview handson session
■ Transformer OC and SC test and load test
■ Transformer BH loop calculation
■ Transformer Inrush current measurement
■ Sumpner's Test on Transformer and load test
■ Induction machine OC and SC test
■ Load test on Induction machine
■ Induction machine BH loop calculation
■ Induction machine Inrush currents calculation
■ DC generator characteristics
■ DC motor characteristics
■ Load test on DC generator and DC motor
■ Synchronous machine OCC characteristics
■ V and inverted V characteristics
■ Load test on synchronous machine
■ Synchronization of synchronous machine to grid
■ Parallel operation of two synchronous machines
